Shed Happens is a complimentary mobile application that utilizes proprietary AI technology to streamline the process of measuring and scoring shed antlers. The application is designed with user-friendliness in mind, allowing individuals to take a photograph of their antlers and receive a detailed scorecard in under 60 seconds. The AI algorithms are specifically calibrated to identify and measure Tines, Main Beam, and Mass according to the BFA scoring system.

This initiative goes beyond simply providing convenient measurements for personal satisfaction; it seeks to establish the largest digital antler database globally. By harnessing vast amounts of data and technology, the goal is to generate valuable insights into antlered species. Whether users wish to know the score of their antlers or not, contributions through uploaded images are vital for data collection and analysis.

The current AI capabilities include scoring for Elk, Mule Deer, and Whitetail species, with an emphasis on Whitetail deer, which has proven to be the most accurately measured so far. It is important to note that accuracy is currently dependent on factors such as background and image quality. However, there are plans to enhance this accuracy, as demonstrated by successful AI applications exhibiting high precision when appropriately trained with quality images.

Approximately 3,000 antlers have already been cataloged for training and testing purposes, with hundreds being measured weekly. However, this number falls short of the necessary volume for optimal training; therefore, assistance in gathering more images is essential. Each uploaded image contributes to refining the AI systems, enhancing measurement accuracy over time.

For those interested in making a direct impact on training efforts, Shed Happens provides an opportunity to become an antler measurer by obtaining a complimentary tape measure. Users can manually enter actual measurements alongside AI-generated scores directly within the app. This can be done immediately after receiving the scorecard or via the home page's scorecard feature. Additionally, Shed Happens offers an unprecedented opportunity to experience antlers through augmented reality technology. Recognizing that traditional photographs may not accurately convey the true size and shape of antlers, the app now allows users to view 3D replicas in real-world dimensions.
